25 Years on, or "Hawklords", was recorded and produced in 1978.Recorded at Langley Farm, in Devon, it was then Mixed and produced at Wessex Studios in the months of June to August 1978. Hawkwind have always been known for their lineup changes, so here's the Lineup that appeared on 25 Years On. Bob Calvert: vocals, wobble board, didgereedoo, jaw harp, guitar, percussion Dave Brock: vocals, guitar, keyboards, synthesisers, bass guitar Harvey Bainbridge: bass guitar, vocals Steve Swindells: keyboards, vocals Martin Griffin: drums (tracks 1, 2, 5 & 6 only) Simon King: drums (tracks 4, 6 – 8 only) Simon House: violin (tracks 6 – 8 only) Henry Lowther: guest trumpet Les McClure: guest vocals
This was a pretty good example of Calvert's influence on the sound of Hawkwind's music (as in "Quark Strangeness and Charm" too, where Calvert's sardonic lyrics and Sci-Fi techno sounding monotone voice lend a much more scientific than magickal ambience to the music). A kind of futuristic rock n' roller in a decaying society is portrayed more than Cosmic paranormal happenings and God like biengs, as is often the rule with Hawkwind (e.g. "space Ritual", Warrior on the Edge of Time", "Doremifasol Latido", and "Chronicle of the Black Sword"). Whatever Hawkwind are emanating for ambient musical projections of Future Realms and timeless truths, the result is always captivating, drawing you into the synthesised worlds, perhaps "Percieved", rather than "Conceived", from some past-future memories drawn out of the Mercurial (Hermes Trismegistus - Mercury; God of Telepathy, Music and Communication) Intergalactic genetic memory-pool and thrown into a haze of sonic landscapes much more descriptive than any language or paintbrush can encapsulate. 25 Years On was released under the Band name "Hawklords", and for me reflects the zietgeist of a whole era in the Traveller-Hippy movement of the U.K. in the early eighties. This was perhaps the best phase of my whole life, and Hawkwind played a massive part in the shaping of the world i then lived in and percieved as my reality.

Big Ass is currently one of Thailand's hottest rock groups; Starting off more Pop-Rock orientated, they have slowly developed along a more Punk/Hardcore trajectory, and now are more known for their fast chuging raucous sounds than their soft melodic pop-rock tunes that were to be heard in their first few productions. "Begins" was their fifth album. The first album, "Not Bad", by Big Ass was released in 1997 under the Music Bugs label. The following 2 albums; "XL", and "My World" didn't arrive till much later in 2000 and 2003. Although recieving many awards for their music, Big Ass still didn't manage to reach a larger audience during the first 3 albums, so they decided to change labels and moved from Music Bugs to Genie records (a sub affiliate of Grammy). With their fourth album "Seven" Named so because of having been 7 years in the Music Industry), they acheived both commercial success and Awards - the two biggest Music awards in Thailand were both given to Big Ass (Season Awards, and Fat Awards). The next album after Seven was "Believe" Big Ass have also appeared in the film "Pid Term Yai Hua Jai Wawun" (as themselves), playing the song "Gon Thay", and did the soundtract theme to the movie too. In the news"Dax" Ekarat Wongcharat, the leading vocal of Big Ass, made the headlines when a 17 year old men's magazine model nicknamed "Fai" appeared with her baby "Justin" and claimed that Dax was the baby's father on February 2006. Allegedly they had sex when Fai was 16 years old, meaning that Dax would be a child sex offender if the accusation was true. Dax was subsequently arrested and released on bail on 27 February. While Dax gave his blood sample for DNA testing in March, Fai and Justin did not give theirs until early May. On 10 May 2006 police announced that the result was negative. A retest performed by Khunying Pornthip Rojanasunand drew the same conclusion. Even through he is not the child's father, the trial for the underage sex offense remained. The trial began on 13 February 2007 and the court decision was announced on 21 March 2007. He received two years of a suspended sentence and must produce two anti-drug songs as pledged by the singer in exchange for a light sentence.

"Dax" Ekarat Wongcharat, the leading vocal of Big Ass, made the headlines when a 17 year old men's magazine model nicknamed "Fai" appeared with her baby "Justin" and claimed that Dax was the baby's father on February 2006. Allegedly they had sex when Fai was 16 years old, meaning that Dax would be a child sex offender if the accusation was true. Dax was subsequently arrested and released on bail on 27 February. While Dax gave his blood sample for DNA testing in March, Fai and Justin did not give theirs until early May. On 10 May 2006 police announced that the result was negative. A retest performed by Khunying Pornthip Rojanasunand drew the same conclusion. Even through he is not the child's father, the trial for the underage sex offense remained. The trial began on 13 February 2007 and the court decision was announced on 21 March 2007. He received two years of a suspended sentence and must produce two anti-drug songs as pledged by the singer in exchange for a light sentence.
