Bird Tongchay (บิร์ดธงชัย) is one of Thailand's Immortal stars when it comes to Musical Entertainment. Covering a wide range of musical styles, Bird has developed and adapted throughout his long career, applying both his adept voice, dance techniques, and showmanship to amalgamate his undeniable attainment of standing at the summit of a musical career that is second to no one in Thailand. His genius and mastery of all the various musical styles coupled with the use of traditional, regional and modern dance techniques has catapulted Bird Tongchay on a career trajectory that has left him far far ahead of any other living musician/performer in Thailand, if only to consider his incredible adaptability. Bird is the epitomy of the word "Multitalented" with the additional blessing of having an extremely affectionate public manner. His public relations are impeccable. When a Royal gala Concert or performance is on, Bird is normally present an entertainer. Many perople unofficially count him as the Royal songsmith, which is of course, not official, but it is very well known that Bird is extremely popular in the Royal Family, and often are they to be seen attending his concerts. Just watch the two videos below for great showmanship; the first one is from his Faen ja tour which he produced double cd live albums from from each of the four main regions of Thailand.
The list of songs performed (and even the lyrics for some songs that were played in all regions) in each region were adapted to have meaning and a point of familiarity for the local audiences to connect easily with the music (not that it is necessary considering Bird's status)- this is a touch of genius on Bird's behalf. It's not that he needs to attract the audience, he already has them anyway, but he wishes to give the most complete and professional performance that he can render, and includes any subtlety to the show which he thinks may increase the enjoyment of the audience. Incredible String Band is one of the most bizzare sounds ever imaginable. Listening to this band conjures images of elves and pixies. A "down the rabbit hole" kind of adventure is journeyed upon whilst listening to the Incredible String Band 's laments and melodies, sometimes magical, sometimes nonsensical, but never failing to enchant you with its lyrical wanderings.
I shall attempt to catalogue as much as i can here of Incredible String Band , discography etc. Pleaser remember to come back and keep checking here for new additions; my blogs get added to on old posts so it is important to re-read again and again until they are complete. I have a personality that likes to add and expand on matters, so i can't leave old posts alone when i get new ideas for something i would like to add.

Sataiarn Tam Muerเสถียร ทำมือis one of Thailand's finest folk/country singers. Whether his music should be classified as "Look Tung", or "Puea Cheewith", is questionable, but i tend to lean towards classing it more as Look Tung. The term Look Tung (ลูกทุ่ง), literally translated, means "Son of the field". This indicates that Look Tung music shares an intimacy with rural life and values, it's problems, love stories (both happy, and tragic, mostly tragic) and way of life. ภาพล่าง ; เสถียร ทำมือ - เสถียร ทำมือ ชุด 3 ฝากใจกับเดือนจาง The sweet sorrowful sound of his voice is a harmonic stream of emotion. Both followers of Look Tung, and Pueacheewith music listen to Satiarn avidly. Satiarn, along with maybe Tai Tanawut, have contributed to making Thai Looktung music popular again with the younger generation, taking the looktung sound and giving it a freshening up with modern topics and a more up to date presentation as far as music video and costume is concerned. The music is essentially looktung, but the clothing worn and the style of life projected is more Pueacheewith. To tell the truth, Pueacheewith and Looktung are both similar in the sense that they both profess a simple, country lifestyle. Satiarn Supagul (Satiarn Tam Muer) Born in Baan Grasang, Ampher Huay Tab Tan, in Sree Sagaes Province (Sri Saget, Isan Country, N.E. Thailand). He finished Primary School at Grasang Primary school. Secondary school was completed at Gampaeng shool in Ampher Utumpornpisay, also in Sree Sagaes. He attained his batchelor of Arts degree in the Musical section of the Arts facility of the Ratchapat University in Ubon Ratchatani.
